Timurbekova A.K. graduated with honors from the Kazakh Chemical-Technological Institute in 1995. From 1995 to 1997, she worked as a research trainee, and from 1997 to 2000, she pursued full-time postgraduate studies at M. Auezov South Kazakhstan State University.
In April 2006, she successfully defended her dissertation for the degree of Candidate of Technical Sciences.
In September 2006, she began her career at the Kazakh National Agrarian University as an assistant at the department. In 2008, she was promoted to senior lecturer, in 2012 to associate professor, and in 2016 to professor of the Department of Food Technology and Safety. She teaches in Kazakh and Russian to bachelor’s and master’s students enrolled in the educational programs «Processing Technology», «Food Technology» and «Food Safety». As a scientific supervisor of dissertation research, she has trained 35 masters of technical sciences in the above-mentioned educational programs and 1 PhD graduate in the educational program «Standardization and Certification».
In addition to her teaching activities, she has been actively involved in research since 2007. She has served as a researcher in a number of projects funded through grant financing from the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, program-targeted financing from the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and a project on the commercialization of the results of scientific and scientific-technical activities.
In October 2011, by decision of the Board of the Committee for Control in the Sphere of Education and Science of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, she was awarded the academic title of associate professor in the specialty «Food Technology».
In January 2025, by decision of the Committee for Quality Assurance in Science and Higher Education of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, she was awarded the academic title of professor in the scientific field of «Food Technologies».
She is the author of more than 250 scientific publications, including 21 research articles published in journals with a non-zero impact factor indexed in the international databases Web of Science and Scopus, 1 textbook approved by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, 9 teaching manuals, including 3 approved by the Republican Educational and Methodological Council of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, 5 monographs, and 12 patents for inventions, including 1 Eurasian patent. H-index – 9.
She is the recipient of the title «Best University Teacher-2016» awarded by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
She is also an expert in higher and postgraduate educational programs at the National Center for Higher Education Development of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, a member of the Educational and Methodological Association of the Republican Educational and Methodological Council of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan at Almaty Technological University, an expert at the National Center for State Scientific and Technical Expertise, and an expert at the Independent Agency for Accreditation and Rating.
