Sadykulov Tuleukhan is a prominent scientist in the field of animal breeding who has made a significant contribution to the development of the theoretical foundations of genetics and breeding for the creation and improvement of domestic fat-tailed sheep breeds. He is one of the authors of the Degeres fat-tailed sheep breed. He holds one copyright certificate issued by the Ministry of Agriculture of the USSR and eight patents issued by the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan. For more than 45 years, he has led research aimed at improving the Degeres and Saryarka fat-tailed sheep breeds.
Under the leadership of Sadykulov and Professor Barry (South Africa), a unique international research project was carried out at the Baikonur Cosmodrome in 2002. For the first time in the history of space research, the viability of oocytes and embryos of Degeres sheep was studied under zero-gravity conditions. Scientists from five countries — Kazakhstan, Russia, the United States, Italy, and South Africa — participated in the project. In addition, the project “Innovative Technologies for Lamb Production” was presented at the International Exhibition EXPO 2017 in Astana.
Under his supervision, 23 dissertations were successfully defended, including 8 doctoral dissertations, 10 candidate dissertations, and 5 master’s theses. He has authored and co-authored 182 scientific publications, including 1 monograph, 3 textbooks, 6 teaching manuals, 7 methodological recommendations, and 2 instructional guidelines.
Throughout his professional career, he has actively contributed to scientific and public activities at the national level. He has served as a member of the Expert Commission of the Scientific and Technical Council of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan; as a scientific consultant for the Kazakhstan National Encyclopedia; and as a member of commissions responsible for drafting the Law “On Breeding in Livestock Production of the Republic of Kazakhstan,” developing regulations on the evaluation of breeding achievements in livestock production, and preparing state standards for farm animal breeds.
He has also served as a member of the Expert Commission of the Higher Attestation Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the State Expert Commission of the Ministry of Agriculture of the USSR for the evaluation of breeding achievements. He was a member of the Editorial Board of the scientific and analytical journal “Bulletin of Agricultural Science of Kazakhstan.”
He has served as a member of the Livestock Production and Veterinary Medicine Section of the Scientific and Technical Council of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Coordination Council of the Kazakh Research Institute of Livestock and Fodder Production, and the Dissertation Council for the award of the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree at the Kazakh National Agrarian University.
Sadykulov Tuleukhan has received numerous state and professional awards and distinctions, including the “Kurmet” Order, the medal “For Valorous Labour,” and the honorary title “Honored Worker of Science of the Kazakh SSR.” He is a laureate of the Al-Farabi State Prize in Science and Technology, a recipient of a State Scientific Scholarship, and a winner of the “Best University Teacher” grant of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
He has also been awarded the “Leader in Agriculture” medal of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan and Certificates of Honor from the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and the Academy of Agricultural Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan. He was elected an Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan and was awarded the title of Honorary Citizen of Almaty Region.
