Roundtable on “Law and Order” and a Flash Mob Celebrating Republic Day on October 25
In our modern, democratic, and legal state, the highest values are the human being, their life, and their freedom. To promote these core values, a large-scale round table discussion titled “My Country. My Right. My Responsibility” was recently organized by the Academician N.U. Bazanova Department of Animal Biology at the Kazakh National Agrarian Research University (KazNARU). The event brought together students and teachers to address pressing social issues. The gathering opened with the performance of the National Anthem of the Republic of Kazakhstan and continued with a video screening about the nation's supreme law — the Constitution.
The primary goal of the round table was to enhance the legal literacy of young people and reinforce the principle of “Law and Order.” During the meeting, students exchanged views across three key areas:
“My Country — My Pride”: Participants explored the deep meaning of the term “Citizen,” discussed the responsibility that a conscientious citizen must uphold, and examined how youth can actively contribute to the country's development.
“Right — My Legal Protection”: Students addressed their rights within the educational environment, daily life, and the digital space, which is highly relevant today. Important information was shared on how to counter cybercrimes—such as cyberbullying, social media insults, and the unauthorized distribution of personal data—as well as where to seek help if their rights are violated.
“Responsibility — My Civic Duty”: The core theme of this discussion was anchored in the famous words of the great philosopher Al-Farabi: “Knowledge without upbringing is a disaster for humanity.” The participants clearly recognized that “where your rights end, the rights of another person begin.”
The most engaging part of the event was the analysis of real-life case studies. Students provided a legal assessment of a scenario where a group of youth damaged property in a classroom (vandalism) and tried to justify their actions as a form of “leisure freedom.” The students successfully demonstrated that such behavior is not a right, but a clear violation of the law that carries administrative or criminal liability.
At the conclusion of the round table, the jury members praised the students' high level of engagement and strong legal awareness, awarding them corresponding scores. This event significantly helped the youth not only learn to advocate for their rights but also deeply understand their civic duty to their country.
