"FIELD DAY" BASED ON PROJECT RESULTS

A "Field Day" seminar was held in June, 11, 2026 based on the results of project IRN AR22685329 titled “Improving the technology monitoring water bodies based on digital technologies and developing remote control device water metering in irrigation systems”. The project leader, PhD and Senior Lecturer of the Department of Water Resources and Reclamation, U.K. Onlassyn, and the scientific consultant of the project, Professor of the Department of Water Resources and Reclamation, I.S. Seitasanov, demonstrated the newly developed KazNARU device "Digital SU" designed for rapid, remote, and automated water accounting in field conditions. The demonstration took place at the "Malybay-1" water-gauging post of the inter-farm canal at the Head Water Intake of the Kunaev BAC on the Shelek River, in the Enbekshikazakh District of the Almaty Region.

Within the framework of the "Field Day," discussions covered modern technologies for water accounting in irrigation systems, digital monitoring, automated control systems, the practical application of the newly developed device for operational water accounting on irrigation canals, its utilization by water-using specialists, and the implementation of scientific achievements into production. Participants included specialists from the RSE on REM "Big Almaty Canal named after D. Kunaev," graduate and undergraduate students participating in the "Summer School 2026" in the field of "Water Resources Management," and faculty members of the Department of Water Resources and Melioration.
