Startup Project Competition Held within the “Smart Agroscience: Research and Innovations of Young Scientists” Conference

A startup project competition was held at the Kazakh National Agrarian Research University as part of the international conference “Smart Agroscience: Research and Innovations of Young Scientists.” The event aimed to support innovative ideas of young researchers, promote the implementation of scientific developments, and foster entrepreneurial skills.
Students of the “Water Management and Land Reclamation” educational program actively participated in the competition, presenting their promising projects. In particular, under the supervision of Senior Lecturer Ulzhan Kuanyshbekkyzy Onglasyn, third-year students of the 6B08604 – “Water Management and Land Reclamation” program, Nurai Augambay, Ayala Kairat, and Daniyal Dumanzhan, successfully defended their startup project titled “EcoCoffee Fertilizer.”
The project focuses on improving soil fertility through the use of environmentally friendly fertilizers in agriculture. The “EcoCoffee Fertilizer” concept is based on recycling coffee waste into organic fertilizer. This approach contributes to effective waste management, reduces environmental impact, and supports sustainable agriculture.
During the competition, participants presented their projects, demonstrating their scientific background and practical relevance. The jury highly appreciated the innovation, economic feasibility, and implementation potential of the presented projects.
As a result, the “EcoCoffee Fertilizer” project was successfully defended and awarded a prize-winning place. This achievement reflects the growing interest of students in research and innovation activities.
The competition served as an effective platform for unlocking students’ creative potential, developing new ideas, and transforming them into real-world projects.
