CEREMONIAL EVENING “WOMAN – THE MELODY OF BEAUTY” HELD at KazNARU FOR INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY

On March 5, 2026, the Chairman of the Board – Rector of the Kazakh National Agrarian Research University, President of the National Academy of Sciences under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Academician Akylbek Kurishbayev, hosted a ceremonial event dedicated to International Women’s Day – March 8.
The celebration took place in the university’s assembly hall and was attended by faculty members, staff, and students. The main purpose of the event was to highlight the important role of women in society, science, and education, and to congratulate the women of the university community on the spring holiday.
In his congratulatory speech, Rector Akylbek Kurishbayev emphasized the invaluable contribution of women to society.
“Throughout history, the lives of our mothers have embodied beauty, wisdom, kindness, tenderness, and resilience. The history of our nation is rich with examples of the noble deeds and moral strength of our women. I sincerely congratulate all mothers, daughters, and sisters on this wonderful holiday,” he said.
The rector also highlighted the significant contribution of women to the development of the university and the country.
According to him, women make up a large share of professionals in various sectors. In education and science, their share reaches 70%, in healthcare and culture about 80%, and in the financial sector more than 60%.
At KazNARU, 63.5% of the 1,077 employees are women, which equals 684 staff members. Seventy-one women hold leadership positions. Among the teaching staff there are 19 Doctors of Science, 94 Candidates of Science, 80 PhD holders, and 183 Master’s degree holders.
Over the years, 39 female lecturers of the university have received the “Best University Teacher” grant. In 2025, one employee became the “Best Researcher”, another received the “Best University Teacher” award, and one young scientist was awarded a State Scientific Scholarship for talented young researchers. In addition, two employees received the international “Bolashak” scholarship for scientific internships.
Currently, 17 women scientists of the university lead research projects. Another significant achievement was that two KazNARU researchers received the first N. Bazanova Award of the National Academy of Sciences, established to support women scientists in Kazakhstan.
During the ceremony, a number of employees who have made significant contributions to the development of the university were awarded the “University Pride” badge, Honorary Certificates, and Letters of Appreciation.
The Dean of the Faculty of Forestry and Land Resources, Doctor of Agricultural Sciences, Professor Sarsekova Dani, became the recipient of the first Academician N. Bazanova Award of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Representatives of the military department welcomed the women attending the event and presented them with tulips on behalf of the Rector. Notably, these flowers were grown by students of the Faculty of Forestry and Land Resources.

The festive concert program featured performances by representatives of all faculties and structural divisions of the university. The event opened with the dance “Nazqonyr” performed by the “WAYB” dance group.
During the concert, faculty members, staff, and students performed the songs “Anashym”, “Bile, bile”, “Boztorgai ana”, “Sen kereksin”, “Everything for You”, “Zhuldizym”, and “Senim shynary”. A poem by Mukagali Makatayev — “Әйелдердің мерекесі екен ғой!” dedicated to women was also recited.
Dance performances were presented by the university’s creative groups “WAYB” and “ONE”.
A special highlight of the evening was the performance of the honored guest — Honored Worker of Kazakhstan, holder of the Order “Qurmet”, Kudaibergen Bekish. He performed the songs “Anashym”, “Syrlasu”, “Khanshayym”, and “Armandastar”, which were warmly received by the audience.
The event was organized by the Youth Affairs Committee and the Department of Educational Work, with the active participation of A. Smanov, A. Kozybagarova, A. Yerkebay, K. Imanov, and A. Paluanov.
The evening concluded with commemorative photographs and warm impressions. Such cultural events strengthen unity within the university community and promote spiritual values among students and staff.
