Kazakh National Agrarian Research University held a ceremonial event to celebrate Republic Day, one of Kazakhstan’s most significant national holidays.
Akhylbek Kurishbayev, Chairman of the Board – Rector of KazNARU and Academician, congratulated the university community on the national holiday, highlighted its historical significance, and presented awards to staff members who have made significant contributions to the university’s development.
“October 25 is a landmark date in our country’s history, symbolizing Kazakhstan’s statehood and sovereignty. The adoption of the Declaration of State Sovereignty in 1990 marked a decisive step towards independence. Republic Day is a special occasion that strengthens national unity, promotes shared national values, and reinforces every citizen’s sense of responsibility towards their homeland,” said Akhylbek Kurishbayev.
The ceremony also addressed key priorities in improving the quality of education, advancing scientific research, and expanding international cooperation. Particular emphasis was placed on integrating digital technologies and artificial intelligence into the educational process, strengthening collaboration between science and industry, and introducing innovative solutions in the agricultural sector.
The Rector emphasized that progress in these areas contributes to training competitive, highly qualified professionals and further advancing agricultural science in Kazakhstan.
The celebration continued with student performances showcasing Kazakhstan’s national arts, cultural heritage, and the values of independence. The programme featured traditional dances, poetry performances, folk songs, and küy — traditional Kazakh instrumental compositions. A special highlight was the performance entitled “Six Values – One Future,” illustrating the contributions of the university’s faculties to the development of society and the country.
The festive event, entitled “My Country, My Future,” aimed to highlight the historical significance of Republic Day and promote national values. Through creative performances, students presented important chapters in Kazakhstan’s history, the achievements of the country since independence, and its rich cultural heritage.
The celebration helped foster patriotism among young people, strengthen their sense of civic responsibility, and reinforce confidence in the country’s future. It also emphasized the importance of national unity and encouraged the younger generation to contribute actively to Kazakhstan’s continued development.
