I-CRAFT 2026 BRINGS TOGETHER SCIENTISTS FROM 12 COUNTRIES IN ALMATY

The 6th International Conference I-CRAFT 2026, dedicated to research in agricultural and food technologies, has opened in Almaty. Taking place from September 22 to 24, the conference brings together more than 100 scientists and experts from 12 countries.

The conference is organized by the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Kazakh National Agrarian Research University (KazNARU), with the support of Çukurova University (Türkiye).

Key topics include modern agricultural and food technologies, sustainable agriculture, plant and animal breeding, water resource management, deep processing of agricultural products, food security, and the application of artificial intelligence in science.

At the opening ceremony, Akhylbek Kurishbayev, President of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan and Chairman of the Board – Rector of KazNARU, emphasized the need for a systemic transformation of agricultural science.

“Artificial intelligence makes it possible to connect data across different levels — from plant and animal genomes, soil and feed composition, and the condition of crops and pastures to production processes, product quality, and consumer demand,” Akhylbek Kurishbayev noted.

He also highlighted the Qazaqstan AI for Science initiative, which is based on a new model for organizing scientific research, where scientists work alongside artificial intelligence to develop hypotheses and models that are subsequently tested and independently validated.

I-CRAFT 2026 provides an international platform for exchanging scientific expertise, building new partnerships, and developing joint projects in sustainable agri-food technologies.
