Eco Flash Mob “Land of the Snow Leopard” Held at KazNARU

On April 8, 2026, an environmental flash mob titled “Land of the Snow Leopard” was held at the sports stadium of the Kazakh National Agrarian Research University (KazNARU). The event was dedicated to the upcoming International Earth Day and issues related to the protection of Kazakhstan’s wildlife.
The organizers and active participants of the campaign were students and activists of the “Agro” eco-club of the Faculty of Agrobiology. The event was conducted under the guidance of Deputy Dean for Educational Work Murat Zhaudir Nurlankyzy, Head of the Department of Soil Science, Agrochemistry and Ecology Zhanar Yermekovna Sagidoldina, Professor B.Zh. Makhamedova, Senior Lecturer E.M. Kuandykova, as well as curators: G.S. Mutasheva, E.A. Bukenova, N.P. Aubakirov, G.A. Ussenova, L.E. Zhailybayeva, and O.A. Sagyndykov.
The event was also attended by honored guests — representatives of the “Baitaq” Green Party, a staff member of the Institute of Green and Sustainable Development of KazNARU, and representatives of the Ile-Alatau National Park.
The head of the eco-club, Senior Lecturer and Candidate of Biological Sciences Elmira Abaevna Bukenova, conducted an interview with Abugali Makhambet Malikuly, founder of the NEWMAN Public Foundation and head of the volunteer department of the “Baitaq” party. During the discussion, актуальные вопросы экологического волонтерства и его роль в формировании общественного сознания и экологической культуры населения were addressed.
Leading specialist of the Institute of Green and Sustainable Development Maiya Muratovna Suyunchaliyeva, together with Kalima Sarsembaykyzy Tursymbay, a сотрудница Ile-Alatau National Park, discussed environmental aspects of preserving rare animal species in Kazakhstan’s national parks.
The flash mob featured a dance performance by approximately 100 students, set to music from the popular animated film “Zootopia”.
The eco-action became a vivid symbol of youth environmental responsibility and their contribution to environmental protection.
Such initiatives help to develop ecological thinking, raise awareness about nature conservation issues, and strengthen the culture of sustainable development among young people.
